Lufkin's QB Reggie McNeal is this Web Sites offensive preseason MVP. How often do you get a Vincent Young and Reggie McNeal in the same decade let alone the same class? Not often. Magical with both his feet and arm, McNeal completed 115 of 230 for 2,150 yards with 25 TDs and another 10 scores on the ground. Tyler John Tyler safety Matthew Melton said he thought they had McNeal under control the first half of last years game until the third quarter opened with Reggie killing the Lions by scrambling out of the pocket to daylight. McNeal accounted for 1,400 yards with 15 TDs as a sophomore while possessing 4.32-speed in the 40 and a 10.3 in the 100m. McNeal has led the Panthers to a 18-7 record in 2 years. McNeal has also led the Pack to the top spot in the DCTFM ranking's,and to the #6 ranking in the nation. McNeal was named to the DCTFM 1st team super team squad,and will look to live up to his exspectations this fall.

John Tyler vs Katy is the Wk.0 game of the week. These two teams went at it twice last year in Wk.0 ,and then in the state championship game. Katy won both games 28-10 ,and 35-20. John Tyler is looking to get pay back in Tyler at Rose Stadium.

John Tyler's key players- The Lions offense isn't that
simple to figure out but can you stop it. The Lions use multiple RB's in a game 5-6 ,but the main back in 2001 is RB Cliff Edwards who scored on Katy in the state championship game last year. The Lions QB Griffin will get the snaps and with lots of speed could help the Lions to a win over Katy. John Tyler has a set of LB's to be reckoned with OLB Fletcher Session ,and MLB McGee I won't attempt t spell his first name. DB Melton will help hold down the Katy passing attack.

Katy's key players- Not much coming back ,but do have big play talent RB Jerrold Jones who is one of the best RB's in the state. Katy's defense will be lead by LB Goote who racked up 102 tackles last season. Katy looks pretty young this year ,and will struggle at the beging ,but look for them to pull it together what could mean another state
tittle.
